ABCMI event: Creating conditions for ferry construction in B.C.
Event to hold round-table discussion on building ferries in B.C.

The Association of British Columbia Marine Industries (ABCMI), in partnership with BC Ferries, is pleased to host a roundtable on building ferries in British Columbia. This engaging dialog with ship builders, labour, legal experts, designers, financial specialists and ship owners will explore how to create the conditions for competitive new vessel construction in BC.

The roundtable will create dialogue on the following topics:

  • BC Ferries fleet construction plan
  • Technology trends and adoption
  • BC Ferries design/build requirements
  • Risk allocation and contractual requirements
  • Quality, warranty management and total life cycle cost
  • The Canadian Ferry Association perspective

The roundtable will be of interest to ship builders, labour, ship designers, classification societies, marine suppliers, law firms, financial specialists and other stakeholders. Attendees will be invited to offer constructive, practical ideas for creating competitive local ship construction.
