The i-law Maritime Law Award recognizes excellence in the legal profession and honors Norton Rose Fulbright as the law firm that has offered the very best service to the maritime and shipping industry over the past 12 months. Lloyd’s List is a leading publication for global shipping news, data and analysis and is one of the world's oldest continuously running journals.
The award underlines Norton Rose Fulbright’s commitment to the shipping industry.
The firm has significantly grown its New York shipping team, which was established less than five years ago.
In January 2017, it combined with a market-leading maritime law practice in Vancouver to become the only global firm with a dominant shipping practice in Canada led by its lawyers in Vancouver and Montreal.
In the past year, the firm has also extended its presence in Latin America, with new offices in Sao Paulo and Mexico City.
Brian Devine, Norton Rose Fulbright’s U.S. Head of Transport, commented:
“Our shipping team has been rewarded for its outstanding work and its commitment to the further growth of its maritime capability. Our Americas shipping team is now firmly established in the U.S. and the wider Americas region. To be honored with this award is truly an outstanding accomplishment.”
Shelley Chapelski, Norton Rose Fulbright’s Canadian Head of Shipping, said:
“The breadth of our national shipping practice in Canada enables us to support our clients on a wide range of multi-jurisdictional matters, harness the opportunities and energy of our global platform as well as provide a truly global service the shipping industry requires. We are delighted to receive this award which highlights our position as a leader in the market.”
